Banco Popular’s “Caring Around the Year” Program
Aspire has enjoyed a long-term and fruitful relationship with Banco Popular, the Rosemont-based community bank with 20 branches in the area. The employer and its staff have generously supported Aspire’s programs for years. Employees of the bank serve as volunteers in its “Caring Around the Year” program.
Volunteers participate in a range of projects, such as offering seasonal decorating of the façade and patio at Aspire on Eastern, our caring home for adults with moderate to profound disabilities, as well as work with residents to celebrate Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Halloween, and the arrival of the fall season. Employees also send greeting cards to participants during the season in which they are volunteering. Through this program it is hoped that bank employees will gain a better appreciation of “inclusion” as they work to add a festive touch to the homes of 82 adults with disabilities. An added plus: the program heightens the bank’s profile in the community and adds a tangible way for employees to help improve the lives of others.
