UPS “Make a Difference Day” on Martin Luther King Day
On Martin Luther King Day, January 21, 2009, a crew of 25 staff members from United Parcel Service in Hodgkins donated their time and talents to benefit Aspire. UPS has a corporate philosophy of community involvement and on that day UPS employees participated in service projects at human service organizations throughout west suburban Chicago.
At Aspire they led MLK craft projects and group activities with adult participants; painted the vestibule and hallways at our Community Employment Services center; and painted our conference room at Aspire on Eastern. All told, this group of energetic and enthusiastic volunteers donated more than 150 hours of their time and talents to making a difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities.
